The backlash against overprotectiveness in our culture is on!  We all want to be safe, but more and more of us are unwilling to accept that safety is equivalent to eliminating all conceivable risk or responsibility.  The emerging concept of safety includes common sense, living defensively, and embracing risk which is actually statistically insignificant.
